Just to clarify on the No Boy Stay Over rule:
The reason why it's being enforced is because at least 3 of us in the house hold leadership roles in ACF this coming school year and it is encouraged that those in leadership positions also try their best to be "good role models". Either way, leaders are role models, so whatever impression we make, they will be watching.
Based on conversations that I have had with upper years and last year's exec, some people hold high expectations for those in leadership positions, simply because SOMEBODY is always looking up to you. An example of high expectation would be that exec at WLU take an oath to not drink or club for the term they serve on exec. This is to prevent any consequences from "iffy" behaviour from happening. In the same sense, House 8 will take the extreme of not having anyone of the opposite gender sleeping over in our house "to prevent things unseen", despite the unlikelihood. As written in 1 Corinthians 8:9 (NLT) Do not cause a brother or sister with a weaker conscience to stumble. So basically we're all accountable for each other's actions and well-being, both emotional and physical.
We talked about how we wanted House 8 to be a safe-haven, a place to find yourself, a home. So let us watch out for our younger sisters by taking the first step in watching our own actions. As leaders and as upper years in the fellowship, we should strive to be better role models and to be an inspiration to our brothers and sisters, as the upper years did for us.

how late can they stay? i know guys that leave increasingly later until it's pretty much sleeping over but you don't see him there the next morning when everyone is awake~ lol~
anyway, jokes aside: i'm not goin' to say people look up to leaders as much as look critically. I think this is always a good rule and kinda laugh when pplz think it's unlikely anything crazy will happen since i'm skeptical as always. Why put yourself into crazy situations and expect nothing crazy to happen. satan strikes when we think we're safe and there is always the balance of probabilities.
i figure you know something about my struggles so i think i don't need to explain my view on things.
You might wanna consider making rule #2: No sleeping over at a boy's place.
valid point, i wanna see what other rules are coming, i can see something thats related to drinking being #3.
hey hun..
yah...being in the same boat as e there...there's no such thing as "as unlikely as it may be that something will happen" because um..things do happen. therefore, it's not just about rules...I think it's also about accountability. I'm glad you guys have that rule----I hope you'll be willing to bend it when 3 random guys from a different university turn up at 3 in the morning drunk and puking, and I know you'll know when's the right thing to do.
oh and,
don't be afraid to run randomly into people's rooms when their boyfriends are over. it's good for them and they'll thank you later. but I know you know all this already, my dear lightbulbs inc person. loool.
but yah, cora shared about this at women's cell my first year---that sometimes they'd just be up talking late and the guys would be like...aww your couch is so comfy can I stay? and it's tempting to just be like, yah, why not, but the answer should always be "you got yourself here, you can get yourself home" loool. (well at summit there are girl and guy houses just across the street!!! free hotels)
go house 8!!! wheee!!!!
*cook for me?* lol.
