Father’s Extravagant Response:

- saves his son from Quetsatsah Ceremony (punishment for son who lost inheritance à cut off from his people, never speak to him again à family has lost faith/face

o extravagant love from father à Forgiveness

- gives gifts + party

o sandals à not a servant but a son; only free men wear sandals

o robeà distinction; riches & wealth

o ring à authority
